Biography
Brittany Crossman is a wildlife & nature photographer based out of New Brunswick, Canada. Her passion for the natural world has been present since childhood. When she was 8 years old she began photographing whatever could be found around a barn with disposable cameras. This passion remained consistent throughout her life, which lead her to major in photography at Mount Allison University.
Over the last decade, she has photographed many different species, but the red fox holds a special place in her heart. She believes that visual storytelling is an essential component to promoting coexistence with urban wildlife, and eliminating some of that misdirected fear that comes especially with predatory animals. Any animal that can successfully live alongside of humans deserves to have their story told, for it is a remarkable feat. Brittany’s work aims to foster a connection to nature by capturing intimate moments, bringing viewers closer to the lives of these animals.
Her work has been published by multiple magazines, such as Nature's Best Photography, Canadian Geographic, Canadian Wildlife Magazine, Saltscapes, Outdoor Photographer, National Wildlife, and many more. She's also been featured by National Geographic multiple times via social media.
Brittany is an avid supporter of wildlife rehabilitation facilities regularly offering her photographic skills for photo documentary projects, and donating her work for fundraising auctions. Some of the places she supports are Hope For Wildlife, Atlantic Wildlife Institute and The Canid Project.
